Hi Jesse, thanks for your question and for reading. That's a difficult question. I would say the layers of racism are older and deeper than the USA, and have not been exposed by social movements in the same way as in the US, so on a cultural level, it might be more apparent. On the other hand, you will hardly hear of people being killed by police for being brown or black. It is a complex issue. I would say it might be more ingrained in Peru, and not quite explored on a conscious level by popular culture.
