I was that person, too, but not in a job capacity, as the president of a mostly-white institution. I was the good black person, even though people assumed I was a "party girl" before I even took the position. I kept my mouth mostly shut, pointing their racism out in the nicest, most diplomatic ways until George Floyd was killed. Then it all exploded.
