But we ought to consider how we, Black men, speak to and about Black women in terms of their physical and mental attributes and recognize the power of our own privilege in our society as men and how we can perpetuate the same oppression for Black women as Black men, who claim to love them, the way whites, who may claim themselves Black allies at best or colorblind at worse, perpetuate racial oppression… by use of language.
